GPT gross pollutant trap
Gross Pollutant Trap devices (GPT) are an unsolved problem for the Stormwater Industry. The management of gross pollutants (GP’s) is well understood however the means to manage in diverse and intricate catchments is not so well resolved because of the continuous maintenance needs for reliable operational performance for the next peak stormwater flow and the unavoidable cost downstream in environmental impacts and economic costs that mounts if left unattended.
Gross pollution represents the bulk of the volume of contaminates that are highly visible and which must be removed from the stormwater flows. The removal of GP’s is important from the fact they block up drainage systems, make the discharge water look unsightly but are also part of the source of nutrient process affecting Natures ecology in the waterway.
An equally important part of the GP flows is the soluble contaminates like nutrients and low density hydrocarbons from hard surfaces like roadways and industrial aprons that can be carried in the flows. Hydrocarbons restrict oxygen and decaying organics as GP’s in settlement waterways like wetlands and streams are part of the contaminate nitrogen cycle.
Stormwater flows need physical management as well as scientific management for the waste stream these flows represent if not substantially addressed. GPT are the current means to create a filtration and barrier in the waste stream of high velocity flows to downstream water bodies.
The SPARKLE |WATER GPT is designed for upper catchment application with lower volumes for more effective filtration from our innovative distributed catchment model (MDCM) and not the bottom of catchment that significantly avoids contaminating the whole of the catchment to the highest level of catchment wide contamination.

SPARKLE GPT 6000 litre with Access Cover Class A - keylock option
Retail Price: US$12,843.86A Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT) is an on-line end-of-pipe treatment device that separates the larger pollutants such as organics, sticks, leaves, and general refuse from the stormwater flow and holds them for later removal during general maintenance operations.
A GPT performs a supportive role in effective stormwater treatment and can help improve water quality so that it can undergo further processing prior to being piped into storage for later use or released into the environment.
