Rainwater Harvesting
Rainwater is not just the start of the water cycle, it is our most valuable water source. Rainwater sustains the life for every living thing, and it must be protected in this age of climate variability and environmental challenge. Our philosophy is that there is only one water, and we should treat it naturally. We do this by harvesting natural rainfall as either rainwater or stormwater and keeping it in the best possible condition for utilisation, storage, or environmental discharge. The collection and storage of rainwater as a suplimentary water source is becoming increasingly important as the world's population becomes more urbanised and water shortages become more frequent. An urbanised population also places increasing pressure on the water delivery infrastructure that delivers piped water from rivers and dams that can be hundreds of kilometres away. Rainwater harvesting can ease this burden by utilising local rainwater for garden irrigation, car washing, toilet flushing, and laundry use etc. Supplimenting the piped water supply with harvested rainwater can save up to 50% of the fresh water delivered to a domestic property and provide useful savings in the cost of the water, and the energy required to bring it from a far distant dam. However, rainwater harvesting does require proper planning and implimentation to ensure that the maximum benefit is obtained from the harvested water. Issues such as roof catchment contamination and storage quality play a major role in an efficient harvesting system. When rain falls on a roof it will wash off the pollutants that have collected since the previous rain event. This contaminated water includes pollutants such as dust, leaves, and bird droppings which should all be prevented from entering the storage system. A 'First Flush' diverter will separate the heavily contaminated first flow of water from a rain event and direct it to the waste drain. The subsequent higher quality water is then directed to the storage tank, usually via a fine filter. Stormwater catchments vary widely and will most often need treatment for the protection of both downstream ecosystems and human needs. Once rainwater reaches the ground it begins to collect pollutants that are then carried with the water as it flows through the environment. The collected material varies from from vegetable matter to litter, erosion sediments, animal droppings, fertilisers and hydrocarbons along with heavy metals for degraded catchments. The innovation in Sparkle Water's approach is based on a top-of-catchment process where pollutants are separated early in the treatment train and removed from the flow before the water is either stored or released into waterways.  Sparkle Water remove the gross polutants for land based disposal rather than leave it hidden away and accumulating in streams and waterways. Sparkle Water has adopted a mixture of techniques to reduce stormwater's highly variable flow and water quality through point-of-capture separation including optional first flush diversion that creates a dual stream process to better manage the water cycle issues. In this way we are better able to treat the captured water using water quality improvement processes such as advanced filtration systems aligned with Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) techniques that don't overburden later stage wetlands or biofilters.  The advanced treatment system is process driven and includes biological enhancement and non-chemical disinfection for alternate water sourcing systems to make sustainable use of rainwater harvesting as a resource mainly as fit-for-purpose non-potable water supply. Stormwater harvesting and treatment are critical systems within the water-sensitive city contributing to water supply, protecting waterways, mitigating flooding, other climate effects, reducing drainage infrastructure requirements, and giving improved visual and landscapped water amenity. Our product range and integrated systems based approach can be easily retrofitted or used in greenfield solutions for water quality improvement supporting the natural water cycle and environmental outcomes for wonderful livable cities that must be in tune with nature.

Our sewage product group includes Aerated Wastewater Treatment Systems (AWTS), Low-pressure Sewage Pumpout System (LSPS) and Sewage Collection Wells (SCW) that are designed to efficiently process sewage waste for varied applications and situations. AWTS's deliver regulated on-site sewage management for smaller capacity domestic, small community treatment or animal farm waste. AWTS's are utilised in stand-alone or isolated sewerage systems often in rural and semi-rural locations. Such systems also provide protection from raw sewage discharge to the environment and living areas. LSPS's are nominally 1000 liter in-ground tanks packaged with a positive displacement grinder pump or vacuum system connected to a regional area sewerage system. These regional system use a pressure pipe network connecting a large number of houses (that cannot be serviced by a gravity system) to a smaller local treatment plant. SCW's we offer are used when sewage needs to be collected and transferred to a higher level for processing, tanker removal or discharge into a sewer main. They are available in various capacities from 100 liters up to 5,500 liters and can be fitted with single or dual effluent or grinder (masserator type) lift pumps.

Water transfer is an essential capability for dealing with water, whether it is a portable water delivery or dewatering to remove water from a situation.  For water supply from remote streams, tanks and city mains that can be easily transported or waste water removal from areas that do not have public infrastructure gravity drain pipe system, cartage is often the solution.   Ideal solutions include polethylene PE tanks which are 50% lighter and more flexible than steel tanks on trucks or road trailers which is clean and inert so the best quality water or contained contaminate wastewater can be handled appropriately and conveniently. Seepage is always present and often because of low lying situations that need dry ground or avoid dampness around houses that can be easily drained.using pit and submersible pump to raise the waste water to higher levels or longer distances to discharge. Pump stations with inert inground PE tanks are a means for regular discharge water removal for industrial liquids, basements or larger inflow water from high water table or any submerged application with single or more often multiple pump sets and their managed discharge capacity are available for easy installation Removal of stormwater contaminates in manintenance cycles, dewatering of construction sites, dust supression with water cannon or pressurised wash-down hose reel use are found here.  Water body treatment or irregular water sources like sumps, flooding or reclaiming or transfering water sources are regular applicatios that would use larger equipment including minimal harm vacumm systems that can be mobile, stationary or as required for emergency actions to avoid other damage.  Sparkle Water solutions are used for supporting and protecting assets that meet your needs.
